Prague to Plzen Trip - HELP

I am travelling to prague on the 16th Nov and am planning on taking a trip to Plzner. I am planning on using the train. Ive checked out the timetable and the train departs from a station called Praha hl.n.

Can somebody please tell me where this station is and what street it is on? I am staying at the Clioster Inn, is this the closest train station to use.

Also, with only 1 day of my holiday to take a day trip is Plzen worth a visit or is there somewhere else I should try?

Thanks in advamce for your help

The train station is Hlavni Nadrazni and is a few minutes walk to the left of the Museum at the top of Wenseslas sqauare. There is also the train station at Smichov you can use and it takes about 90 minutes to get to Plzen. Some of the local folk may give you better directions.

Once in Plzen it is less that 10 minutes walk to the brewey. As you come out of the station turn right and head towards the subway, just before the subway is a sign showing the way to th brewey this takes you over a footbridge over the main road and drops you right at the gates of the brewery. The brewery does a great tour and there is also a brewing museum in the town as well as a very fine cathedral. Some good pubs there including a 15th century pub that is just amazing

I am writing a reply not realising that you may not know about the brewery in Plzen,it is a shrine to beer lovers,i just presumed that%26#39;s why you want to go to Plzen. This is where Pilsner Urquell (as well as several other beers)is made and in my mind the best GOLDEN beer in the world and the basis for all lager thereafter.

depends how many days you are staying. If you are here for a long weekend, I wouldn%26#39;t bothre going to plzen - you can try the beer at one of the plzen brewery restaurants like olympia or kolkovna.

all trains to plzen stop at smichov station - smichovske nadrazi, which is a diretc metro stop from narodni trida metro station down the road from the cloister inn. Trains run every hour
