Best Mode of Travel from Prague to Frankfurt?

We%26#39;ll be spending 4 nights in Prague. So far we haven%26#39;t made travel arrangements to get back to Frankfurt. Rental car expensive is out of sight and pocketbook. Train ride is about 8 hours+. Airfare looks high but I%26#39;ve been told it%26#39;s possible to get flight once we arrive in Prague that is cheaper than buying in advance. Due to transportation problems I%26#39;m beginning to regret making 4 night reservations in Prague but I%26#39;ve heard it%26#39;s such a beautiful city. Any pitfalls on the airfare? Is this a cargo plane or something that might not leave at a scheduled time? Any better ideas?

Thanks

It sounds like you are trying to get back to Frankfurt from Prague. How are you getting to Prague in the first place? Or, are you looking for a round-trip method from Frankfurt to Prague? If so, air would be the easiest -- it should be too expensive, but that is all relative. What price range are you willing to spend?

And, try pricing a flight from San Antonio to Prague with a connection in Frankfurt, trying to achieve a multi-day layover for your time in Frankfurt... it%26#39;s tricky but it can be done.

Take a look on the web www.germanwings.com It%26#39;s a low cost company from Germany and they offer cheap flights from Prague to different points of Germany. Not sure if they offer flights to Frankfurt, but probably you can find a flight nearby.

Easiest and cheapest might be to take the train up to Bonn and get a german wings flight from Bonn/Cologne airport. I hear they have seats in the plane and windows, everything, it%26#39;s really upmarket:-)

My friend and I are traveling from Dallas to Prague in December. We then want to go to Rothenberg ob der Tauber but we are having trouble finding train rates.

So how did you get back to Frankfurt? Andy tips?

Thanks,
