Hi there, we are travelling to Prague the weekend before Christmas with a party of 11 (total)! Can you recommend any lively restaurants with a bit of atmosphere as well as good food?
Thanks

Kogo at Slovansky Dum. Big modern place in the center. Open kitchen. Good service. Italian/Mediterranean. Great food.
La Bodeguita Del Medio near Old Town Square. Cuban place. Live Cuban music downstairs. Great food. Mojitos! Fun place and great food. Seafood/steaks.
Celnice near Namesti Republiky. Good Czech cuisine and Pilsner Urquell on tap. Has a lively disco downstairs in the later hours.
Book well ahead for a big party.

3 very good restuarants - LaryFary - just round the corner from the Hotel Josef out front door, right then 1st left 50-100 meters. Great Meal etc about 1500ck for 2 for 2 course with drinks (beer %26amp; water)
Cowboys on the main street up to the castle - again good meal, up near the castle - about 1700 ck for same 2 courses with beer/glass of wine %26amp; water
Buffolo Bills (tex mex) in the new town off Wencless Square (ist side street on right hand side as you walk up Wencless Sq - about 5-10 mins down that street. Do not be put off by the location. This is excellent and for starter/main course 2 pints beer and water for 2 people 1/2 the price of the other 2 restaruants about 650ck and just as good if not better.

Depending on what kind of food you want to eat whilst in Prague, you could try Ambiente Brasilero, a Brazilian restaurant in a cellar just behind Old Town Square for a great atmosphere. (www.ambi.cz/ambi_brasiliero_kontakt_eng.php). They serve LOTS of great meat - the idea is you pay a fixed price (around 13 pounds per head), and then you can eat as much as you want - the waiters bring round a constant supply of different types of meat (and some fish) including chicken, duck, suckling pig, veal, south american beef, and so on. They bring the meat round on big skewers and carve the meat at your table. The trick is to take it slowly over the course of the evening, don%26#39;t fill up on the boring chicken at the beginning, and save a space for the hot pineapple at the end! You can also order starters and desserts, and the cocktails are good too. Had two work Christmas parties there now, and both have been great fun.

Klarka - is the restaurant Ambiente Brasilero in the cellar of U Tri Bubnu? We are staying at this hotel 2 - 5 Dec and I read that there was a Brazilian restaurant there. Is it right you get red/green discs to put beside you on the table to indicate whether or not you want more food? Sounds like fun, must remember not to eat too much lunch that day!
Mmmm - good cocktails eh!

Yes, WestGlam, it is indeed the very same place! Enjoy yourself there, and try and book a table in the basement, as it is nicer.
