I will be spending 4 night in prague at the beginning of my honeymoon in July 2007 and they we will be going to Santorini, Greece. I have been searching for flights from Prague to Athens and the prices seem very high to me. Does anyone have any specific airline suggestion to use or routes to take?

Go to letenky.letuska.cz and try the 4 bargain fares search (you have to sign up for a free account to use that feature). It will give you the cheapest airfare from prague to athens with any standard airlines. You can also fly to heraklion (crete) from Prague on Smart Wings (www.smartwings.net) and then take a ferry boat to Santorini. I did this last summer and it worked fine. If you do some research you will probably find that Crete is definitely worthy of a few days stay for a honeymoon and Heraklion is a great place to visit. Crete is the biggest of the Greek islands and the beach towns there range from romantic hideaways to party cities and you can even find a palm tree forest where 70s rock stars used to go camping.

czech airlines is the only airline that flies from prague to athens, so it basically charges what it likes. you can take the train to bratislava and fly smartwings from bratislava to athens which will probably be cheaper, but they only fly twice a week
