New Year's Eve in Prague

Hi I am hoping to book for few nights over new years eve in prague.

Have any of you been? would you recommend it?

I am looking for a nice hotel, not completely in the centre of things but within walking distance.... and suggestions??

prague%26#39;s midnight fireworks are excellent, but two things to be aware of. first the temperature may be well below zero, so you need to wrap up warm to stand on the street to see the display and secondly, as well as the official display, many residents let off their own fireworks on the street out of champagne / beer bottles and then once done hurl the bottle over their heads onto the crowds in the street. It is not for the faint hearted, but if you find a quiet spot (of which there are many) it is unforgetable

As for a nice hotel - there are many nice hotels ranging from 50 to 500 pounds a night. better to give further idea as to what what kind of thing you are looking for

Hi, I spent last new year in Prague with 2 friends, we had great time. There seemed to be something for everyone but if you want a dinner-dance type evening best to book in advance. Didnt manage to see the fireworks on NYE but there was a great display near the river (cant remember if NY day or day after)

We stayed at Intercontinental, good internet rate, and found it handy for old town square, river, and the 5 storey nightclub we visited on NYE (for the life of me cant remember the name but its right on the river) As you can probably tell it was a great time :) I found the club a little packed for my liking- I lost my friends and spent a long time trying to find them- but all in all it was a good night.

the nightclub is karlovy lazne, near to the charles bridge. doesn%26#39;t as you say have a view. Lavka just down the street is a worse nightclub, but has a terrace where you can watch the midnight fireworks
