Service apartment in Prague City Centre

I am thinking of booking an aprtment through www.prague-hotel.co.uk for a holiday in Mar 2007. They have reasonable rate apartment on Legerova 48 Jilska 4, Opatovicka 2, Pricna 4 and Ruzova 17. No idea at all whether the surrounding area is descent and safe for female travellers. Any comments on the area. I am actually thinking of booking the one at Legerova 48 which was described as near tram/metro.

Legerova is one of the busiest traffic streets in Prague

Do not know what the apartments are like, but Jilska is right in the city centere and 5 minutes walk from Tesco supermarket. Ruzova is just of Wenceslas Square, but something of a dark street. Opatovicka is along way out. Never heard of a street called Pricna

Thanks so much for the useful information. One more query - is Euro currency used in Prague?

|||

The currency in Prague is Czech Krouna, about 28.5 to the Euro. Check out http://apartments-in-prague too for really nice apartments located in the center, near Charles Bridge too. They have nice stuff.

koruna not krouna, or in English, Czech crowns.

Some restaurants, shops and taxis will accept Euros, but you will get a lousy rate and any change in local currency. Best to use local currency or credit card, but if you bring some Euros either to change into cash or as an emergency, you can%26#39;t go far wrong

When I went last year I booked through this site. www.athos.cz

We stayed one of the apartments at 48 Wenceslas Square. We had no complaints the apartment was large, spacious, modern and clean. Can%26#39;t remember exactly what we paid but it wasn%26#39;t expensive.
