Thanks

I can also recommend the Klasterini Pivovar, food there was very good and huge portions.sometimes difficult to get in as there are often group bookings. It is about a 5 minute walk up the hill from the actual castle. There are also several other places in the area where you can sit outside and have a meal. One place I was in several years ago was right opposit the entrance/exit area of the barracks where the gaurds come in and out of for the ceremonial changing of the gaurd.i can%26#39;t remember the name of the place, but only a minute or two from the castle.

there is nothing really good within the prague castle. Vikarka restaurant on the left of St Vitus cathedral as you come in he main entrance serves decent czech food, but the prices play on the fact that it is in the castle complex. Remember that the Prague castle complex is a public space - there is no entrance fee or barrier - only a charge to go in certain of the buildings.

Klasterny pivovar is in the strahov monastery, I would say 15 minutes walk from the castle. Lvi Dvur at the back entrance to the castle on U prasneho most is a decent restaurant for lunch and only 3 minutes walk from the cathedral

Thanks!

For some reason I was magaining it being a enclosed complex where once you were in, you were in.

Good to know we can still wander around the general neighbourhood.

There is also Lvi Dvur right by the castle garden by the tram stop.

Good food, nice looking place, unfriendly service, high prices:
