Karlstein Castle

I notice that Karstein Castle is now closed until 26th December. When we have visited Karlstein previously, we have eaten and had a beer in Karstein itself. Can anyone please tell me if the village closes when the castle closes or will we still be able to see the castle from the outside and still find somewhere for linch?

village is open and so are some of the pubs which serve food, but with the castle closed, so do many of the tourist places nearby, but it is pretty dead in winter - the hotel by the river should be open and that serves lunch. Best views of the castle are either from across the river up the hill to the golf course (about a mile walk) or carry on up the road past the castle and keep going up the hill.

if the weather is good, go for some fresh air, but otherwise go out to vysehrad the original prague castle, which is in the south of prague and easily reachable by metro
