Prague to Bavaria ( for castle visits)

Hi Travel experts

Planning on spending a bit of time back in Europe next year and want to hear the best way to cover Prague and Bavaria ( for the lovely Neuwan.... castle in Bavaria) with 2 small but fabulous kids with us ( 2.5 and 6 by the time we travel). Your ideas would be greatly appreciated. We are doing this as part of our trip back to visit family in Denmark and would buy flights into either prague OR munchen ( munich) and go the other way out back to Denmark.

Wanted to visit the much talked about %26quot;grand hotel pupp%26quot; while in Prague but dont know if this is entirely out of the way ?

Lastly- are there any suggested castles which actually host hotel guests on above route (without being ridiculously expensive- possibly oxymoron for Europe)

for neuschwanstein, you are better to fly to Munich - Bavaria is quite a long way from Denmark. Grand Hotel Pupp is in Karlovy Vary about 2 hours west of Prague. Karlovy Vary is worth to visit for an overnight stay, but the Grand Hotel Pupp is nothing special - hotels like the Savoy are now more luxurious.

If you are doing the above tour with kids, you are best to hire a car (but hire and leave it in the same place; otherwise the cost becomes prohibitive). There is a website of castles that you can stay in in Germany and some of these have quite reasonable prices
