good restaurants

does anyone know of a good restaurant i could go to for my birthday on a saturday night. somewhere with a good atmosphere and good food. also, somewhere that has a vegetarian selection

You could try Kogo in Slovansky Dum. Italian-Mediterranean. Doesn%26#39;t focus on vegetarian, but they have things like grilled peppers, grilled mixed vegetables, mushroom risottos, caprese salad, rucola and Parmesan, great soups.

TGI Fridays. Cracking place with great service and great atmosphere

most of the international restaurants in prague, like kogo have vegetarian selections on the menu which are not just a pile of vegetables. Is your other half / partner a vegetarian and what kind of poshness / expense are you looking at?

I can highly recommend a vegetarian restaurant near the river, check out their web site www.lehkahlava.cz It%26#39;s beautiful inside and would be a lovely venue for a birthday meal.

My meat eating friends also absolutely loved the food here, a really exciting menu exceptionally good quality and not pricey.

thanks peb7. my partner is a meat eater so somewhere that has a choice for both of us would be good. somewhere that does local style food would also be good but not essential

we are looking for somewhere quite posh but not too over the top so we feel out of place!

we would be looking to spend around 100ish euros in total.

kogo, as brewsta says, La Scene, La Provence, Pravda, Mlynec all in the old town have vegetarian options and are around 50 euros a head. all the above are international restaurants. The best local Czech restaurant I think is Cervena Tabulka on a small street called lodecska, just east of the old town
