Hotel Pariz and the NY Dinner at its restaurant - any good?

Hi everyone,

We%26#39;ll be staying at hotel Pariz in Prague from Dec. 27 until Jan.1. Apparently the New Year Gala Dinner at the hotel is %26quot;compulsory%26quot; for the hotel guests - they charged us for it at the time of the booking, so it%26#39;s included in the price (we laughed about this %26quot;compulsory%26quot; note - what if we had other plans for celebraing the NY?)

Has anyone ever been to the restaurant of this hotel - is it any good? In your view, what will the dinner be like - what to expect? In your view, will it be interesting for the 1st timers in Prague? Should we go ahead with celebrating NY over there or should we look for some plase else, regardless of 200EU/person? Was hotel a good choice ( not like we had a lot of options at this time - most of the hotels recommended here were booked anyway)?

Any other interesting places/restaurants/hang out places around the hotel Pariz that you%26#39;d recommend to us?

Thanks for your feedback.

if you have to pay for the dinner, i would eat at the pariz, as charged. to eat elsewhere will be another 200 euros per person. Although the pariz isn%26#39;t by the river, so has no view, there is nothing to stop you sneaking out before midnight to watch the fireworks by the river and then coming back.

Pariz is a bit faded and isn%26#39;t one of the best hotels in prague, but it is still good. There are 35 reviews of the hotel on the reviews section of this site - have a read of them
