Okay, okay. Help me out please!!!!!!!!

Four of us are coming to town. We like the hip-hop/R%26amp;B %26amp; dance music, nightlife scene. Karlovy Lazne, I know, is mostly tourists. We want to go anywhere in the city center and not too far from there where the nightlife scene is HOT. I%26#39;m not one of those obnoxious, stag party guys. We%26#39;re just four guys, around 30 years old, who would like to go have a nice time at night and see some nice sites in the town by day. So:

1. Nightclubs. Where should we go for a good experience? We want to have some drinks, R%26amp;B and women who don%26#39;t mind dancing and talking a bit. No, not women one would pay for but women you can dance with, talk to and have a drink with. My friends really like to mingle and socialize.

2. Pubs. We%26#39;d like to go somewhere that we could have a drink or two and mingle a bit, without the football and rugby scene. Just guys, girls and drinks.

That%26#39;s it for now. Can someone, maybe Peb7 or someone else, help me? As I said, we are not the loud, drunk, urinating in public type. We just want to dance, drink a LITTLE BIT and talk to some Czech people.

Ciao!!!!!!

Wow. Only 399 krowns (19.99 US)? I wonder if that%26#39;s per night or what. I%26#39;ll go double check but that sounds pretty awesome.

|||

Karlovy Lazne isn%26#39;t as bad as it reads. Lavka next door is more touristy. In the old town, Celnice at Naemsti republiky and La Fabrique at the bottom of Wenceslas Square are meat markets, but it may be what you want.

As for bars, if you really want to spend the time with fellow drunken brits, then head to the george and dragon. Chateau on Jakubska behind the Tyn chruch is a happening bar

|||

To me it sounds pretty aweful. These are the places, where the drunk brits hang out. Check out Lucerna Bar (www.musicbar.cz) for their program. Lavka is also good for dancing, you are right, Karlovy Lazne is full of tourists, but so are most of the places in Prague.

Ocean Drive and Tretters are the %26quot;in%26quot; bars here, located down town and next to each other. Close by Bugsies and M1 Lounge. Lots of mingling and socializing.

|||

Hmm. Ocean Drive, huh? I wonder if it%26#39;s American owned or if the owner has been to the famous street in Miami, FL, USA.

I%26#39;ll definitely go check those out!! Yeah, I%26#39;m not into hanging out with a bunch of loudmouth drunks. I like to socially drink a few but always try to handle myself and be respectful to others and expect the same in return.

Thanks for the info!! You guys are great moderators and I appreciate the playpass link!

Ciao!! : )

TallChief, here are the best places for single guys who want to party in Prague...

%26gt;%26gt; Nightclubs. Where should we go for a good experience? We want to have some drinks, R%26amp;B and women who don%26#39;t mind dancing and talking a bit. %26lt;%26lt;

The currently most happening place is Misch Masch, any night Wednesday - Saturday it is a good bet. Every 2nd wednesday is a big party so it is *the* place to be. Not many tourists at all. Just locals and a few hip foreigners who live in prague. There are three rooms, R%26amp;B, House and RadioHits. On weekend nights there are probably 1000 people going thru there, including a good number of the type of women you have to pay for who have their night off.

Closer to the center ... Duplex, is mostly tourist, guys, so don%26#39;t get suckered in for the big entrance price unless you want to chat with other foreign guys who want to meet czech girls. Karlovy Lazne is a better bet than that (sunday or monday night on the ground floor they have a funny hip hop party)...Other high profile clubs like Mecca or Radost are mostly only good when they have a special party (check the events on www.praguenet.com for those). But if you like R%26amp;B, the Thursday and Saturday night soul train parties at Radost are a good safe bet when you haven%26#39;t found anything else interesting. La Fabrique is but mostly high school age girls + foreign guys and tourists.

%26gt;%26gt; Pubs.%26lt;%26lt;

In Prague pub usually means sports bar or english pub, so you might be more interested in cocktail bar or just plain bar. But one good laid back pub is Jama, owned by an American guy (Ocean drive is owned by the same guys that own tretter%26#39;s and misch masch). Also for bars, as Martina mentioned, Chateau is OK, but the downstairs dance floor is mostly electro and progressive. You like it or you don%26#39;t. The upstairs bar is happening from 4PM.

Other good places to start out the night with people who will move on to the clubs later, are M1 bar, Bombay, and Harley Bar. Also if you%26#39;re looking for a better dressed crowd who are different than the ones who go to clubs, you can check out Ocean Drive or tretters. You can go to KU bar, too, that%26#39;s where the most beautiful girls are :-) but in there they aren%26#39;t easy to talk too...but you%26#39;ll see a lot of them in Misch Masch later...and you%26#39;ve got to start somewhere. M1 is a better bet for finding friendly conversation. Many of the czech girls are there because they want to meet foreign guys. At the end of the night if you still want to party you can go to solidni nejistota. It used to be the big prague meat market, but now it is not so much...but it%26#39;s happening until 6AM.

Based on your posts I would say your best bet is to go to M1 and talk to some people. You%26#39;ll have a lot of options on where to go, and more likely than not, somebody will invite you to come along with them.

Hmm. Thanks for the info on the pub/bar differential. I DO prefer bars. I thought that a pub was the equivalent to a bar here in the US. I DEFINITELY am not into hanging around a bunch of drunk guys, getting bombed and acting like a fool. I%26#39;d MUCH rather go to a nightclub or bar where there are some young women I could at least dance and/or just talk with.

And I%26#39;m not into paying for a working woman. Misch Masch sounds pretty cool and so do some of the other places you listed. Thanks a bunch for all that information!!!

: )

|||

Mischmasch is by far the best club, mostly locals, so if you want to speak to girls I hope you know some czech.

Friday nights try Infinity bar. It%26#39;s a restaraunt upstairs and a bar with a dance floor downstairs, it is a real nice place, a little outside the city however. easy by metro, and it closes at 430 so right when the metro opens again.

these two places have the best women in prague.

I like chateau, but that is where a lot of sketchy people go, mostly to sell drugs, so some nights are good, others the crowd is really bad.

Duplex and the clubs by the river are not worth going to, its a waste of time and money. Duplex is all tourists and charges usually 300 krowns to get in, not worth it.

Radost is pretty good, has hiphop thurs night i think.

if you make it until 6am, make a stop at studio, its well worth it.

|||

Ayer knows his stuff!

But Studio if Chateau is sketchy, Studio is mega-sketchy, even scarey sometimes

|||

Cafe Dinitz on Na Porici can be a cool bar -- sometimes live music or DJ.
