A place to eat

Hi - we are a family group of nine (no children) visiting over New Year. We are looking for recomendations for somewhere to eat on December 30th (the night we arrive). We have some fussy eaters (don%26#39;t like seafood or anything exotic or new!) and some who will try anything and we%26#39;re all non smokers.

Any recomendations for a restaurant that will fit all our tastes - a tall order I know but I live in hope.

Thanks

Simon

if you don%26#39;t want anything exotic or new, you had all better go to the george and dragon pub on the old town square, where they will give you fish and chips, chicken and chips, steak %26amp; kidney pie and everything else that you can find at home (including heinz tomato ketchup)

I thought a large part of travelling was about discovering exotic and new experiences, including food

Hi - thanks for the reply - I think your misunderstanding my question. We have members of our group that will try anything new - I%26#39;m after suggestions for a good restaurant that serves a wide range - that%26#39;s all - and by fussy I just mean that two members of our party don%26#39;t eat seafood and dislike some types of egg based sauces. I wider menu means there is something for everyone to try.

We are all well travelled and of different nationalities - a cosmopolitan family but we do have one thing in common - we all despise ketchup!

cowboys steak restaurant near the castle caters well for groups, as does Kogo in Slovansky dum in the old town. cafe Colonial on siroka near the old town square has a separate part of the restaurant for groups.

all chareg about 25 pounds a head for 3 courses with beer and have a very extensive menu, including a vegetarian section, which should suit all tastes. not so sure about the avoidance of egg based sauces - this may be a difficult one to regulate, unless you just ask for no sauce with the meal. What is clear that if there is 9 of you, you will need to book in advance

thanks for the advice

The part you will probably struggle with is the non smoker bit. I am not aware of any smoke free restaurants or pubs and not that many have separate areas I believe. Just have to accept it I think.
