Prague next weekend

Hi all

Im going to Prague next weekend for my fiance%26#39;s 30th birthday. Can anyone recommend some good bars/clubs that play 80%26#39;s and pop style music??

Also we were thingking of doing a tour, but know Nov 17th is a holiday will tours still be running that day?? And can anyone receommend a good city tour?

For the music then La Fabrique and Karlovy Lazne have 80%26#39;s music. Although Nov 17 is a Czech holiday (all the action will be around Narodni at the V plaque), it%26#39;s business as usual for tour companies. Tour advice is at www.livingprague.com/tours.htm.

They do 80s music night at Lucerna Music bar on Wencesalas Fridays and Saturdays. It is quite a scene -- big, old fashioned place. Tons of people, many too young to have heard it when it was new. Sometimes they stop letting people in when it gets too full.

Also, be aware it is something of a meat market -- if you are unattended for a brief moment, you will be attended by someone or several someones very quickly (if you are a woman, that is).

Now this meat market sounds funny!! I will be there with my fiance so hopefully will not get too hassled ha ha!

I went to the Lucerna Music bar on my last trip in the summer. Very different to uk clubs. There is no DJ as such just a massive video screen so you watch the videos as you dance.

Now I am old enough to remember all the songs first time round and love the place. The beer is as cheap as anywhere in Prague. It was mainly locals dancing the night away with a few groups of tourists. So its not to much of a cattle market. Nothing like some bars in Newcastle or Liverpool.

Closes at 3am. Bar stops at 2 I think.

I dont know how busy the city is this time of year but I am sure this place will be as full as ever.

WARNING.. it is very very smokie. If the ciggies bother you, you may be better off trying somewhere else. My clothes were rank the next day.

Well.. Maybe a lady friend of mine was unlucky there, but she went to the bar by herself and got a two-handed butt grab from a a %26quot;cheeky%26quot; boy behind her.
