thanks for the info,unfortunatly will miss them as we are in prague from 26th-30th nov. was in prague same time last year and markets were open on 27th nov and some prague web sites indicated that they would be open same dates. Nevermind, we will still have a great time again.

Can you recommened best jazz group that will be playing at any of the venues,went to u stari pani last time %26#39; fantastic%26#39;.

there will be a christmas market at namesti republiky and at namesti miru when you are here. for jazz selections, pick up a copy of the prague post when you arrive as they have a good events listing

Im glad Im not the only one who will miss out on the xmas tree etc;

I too read on various sites that the tree and markets would be open the last week in November . I was there last year the first week in Dec and missed the tree lights being switched on so booked a week earlier this year only to find it was the 1st weekend in Dec. just cant win.I have seen them switched on 3 years ago and it was an unforgetable evening the atmosphere was fantastic , all the nationalalites singing and joining together .

Emil Vicklicky and his trio is playing at U stare pani on 27th November - they are great - they play jazz - some standards - but mainly they take Moravian folk songs and give them a great jazz makeover. They are playing at the London Jazz Festival this week, and play all over Europe. Emil has also played at the Lincoln Center in the States, is a film score composer, and has written an opera. Just so you know that the quality is high!
