Hi,

We%26#39;re just back from Prague and stayed at Rosemary Hostel. They have private apartments with en-suite facilities from 20 euros per person per day. It is ideally located in the city centre, just minutes away from Wencenlas Square. Is really clean and staff are friendly. I strongly reccommend it to those looking for cheap and nice accommodation close to the main amenities.

Cheers,

Felix

Thankyou Felix! I will check this out!!How did you like Prague??

|||

Well, I have to say that Prague really exceeds on making an impression. It is a really beautiful city, full of striking buildings and churches, narrow streets and lovely sites. Very, very beautiful.

But don%26#39;t expect too much in terms of food (loads of meat and really heavy dumplings), not to mention the people, who are the most shockingly harsh and unfriendly I had came across in my life!

Anyway, have a great time and be prepared for the cold (down to -20 in February). And if you have the chance, go to U Meduidku (7, Na Perstyne, Old Town) for a great and cheap meal and the best beer in town; oh, and even polite waiters!

Thanks Felix! I have heard from other friends that people are not very friendly in Prague..a little bit snobbish as well..but I did not know if it was really so...Its either Prague in February or possibly Rome..I suppose Rome%26#39;s weather would be better..much like our Athens weather..

I checked out the Hostel..great prices!!!Thanks for the info..where are you headed next??

|||

Yeah, if I were in your shoes I%26#39;d go to Rome. Better visiting Prague in spring or autumn, when the weather is mild and is not so busy.

I just came back last week, so I%26#39;m not planning any trip yet. Probably I%26#39;ll go home (that%26#39;s Seville, in sunny Andalucia) in February to get away from the northern winter blues here is Scotland.

Spain??!! Your from Spain??I love Spain! I go every summer to Malaga and Madrid where we have some family relatives...!Its great!!I can%26#39;t wait again..Seville is a beautiful city too...I have been to so many places but finally I need the sun...sea...warmth..must be all this Meditteranean blood in me..??!!Hasta lluego!

|||

I%26#39;m glad to hear you like my home country.

By the way, I always wanted to go to Greece, but was a bit wary of ending in an awful tourist hole like the ones we have in Spain (that is Torremolinos, Benidorm, Magaluf and so on...).

Where will you reccommend to go? I love food and sightseeing, sowhere intersting and not too crowded would be great. Any ideas?

Thanks.

unless you are prepared for the cold or love the snow, Rome probably makes an easier February destination than Prague

|||

Thanks Peb7...

Felix..Greece is a beautiful place! You will feel at home...Athens you need more than a couple days..I suggest you visit some islands and also I like Peloponeso very much..its real Meditteranean country to me...Nafplion..Monemvassia....Olympia..Mistras...Peloponeso is lovely if you can do it by car..?

Greek islands are crowded in summer with tourists..the more famous likeMykonos and Santorini...Try Paros..Ios..Rhodes..Hydra....All the islands are lovely..the smaller ones are quieter..depends what you are looking for??

Thanks philosykos,

I quite like quiet places with interesting things to see, historical ruins, churches, temples, that kind of things. Also really interested in real Greek food, good and simple, not the usual tourist fare.

Any ideas apart from those islands you just mentioned?

And if you reccommend various places, is it easy to move around islands?

Thanks very much.
