Hi, I%26#39;m thinking about booking the Arcadiea Residence Hotel for my parents for a city break in September. It does sound really good but what I need to know is how far away it is from the old town - how long does it take to walk or get a tram there from the hotel? Also, does anyone know how long the trams run until at night? Or alternatively, how much would it cost to get a taxi from the town back to the hotel at night?

tram 17 and 18 from down the street take you right by the old town. Tram 18 also takes you to below the castle. Normal trams run till just after midnight and then there are night trams 53 and 55 which run sporadically through the night. I would use the trams and not use taxis - they are clean, safe and cheap. Buy a multiple public transport pass at the airport before you leave.
would take a good 30 minute walk and it is not the most pleasant route
