Christmas Day in Prague

We are staying at the Hotel Julis for Christmas (22-28 Dec). Does anyone have any ideas where to go for xmas lunch? We have 2 children aged 12 and 10 and also my mother in law. Nowhere too expensive, just relaxed. My daughter is a vegetarian.

Also, where is the zoo? Is this far in a taxi from our hotel?

Hi, I am affraid I can%26#39;t help you with choosing the restaurant, but, probably I can with that ZOO.

Zoo is not far at all, but the best for you would, imho, be if you take the metro line C at the %26quot;Nadrazi Holesovice%26quot; stop, and there, you can choose, pick the taxi (there would some stands so it would not be to hard, or try to call f.e. Taxi praha - (+420)222111000, or take the BUS nr. 112, it takes you directly to the ZOO gate, and from your hotel it takes cca 40 minutes... (counting long waitings at the stops, if you%26#39;ll be lucky, it can take also just about 20 min.)

if you want a western style christmas lunch, you need to go to somewhere like the marriott, intercontinental, or red, hot %26amp; blues. don%26#39;t know what you deem expensive, but for these lunches you need to book in advance. 25th is like boxing day in england, the main czech christmas meal is taken on 25th in the evening.

Hot restaurant in the hotel jalta on wenceslas square is good and has vegetarian options; otherwise try zahrada v opere next to the national muzeum at the top of wenceslas square. But you need to book. you wouldn%26#39;t be able to walk into a restaurant on December 25th in england without booking, so don%26#39;t assume that you can in prague
