Three answers needed!

Hello, I have three questions that I need answering (please!)

1) What is the best way to get to Andel%26#39;s hotel from the airport if we%26#39;re landing at around 6pm on Monday 18th Dec?

2) How far is it to get from Andel%26#39;s hotel to a restaurant called Palffy Palac?

3) We were hoping to go to see an ice hockey game from one of the two following options but how do you get tickets to watch and how far away are the stadiums from, you%26#39;ve guessed it... Andel%26#39;s?!

HC Sparta Praha - HC Vítkovice Steel

HC Slavia Praha - Bílí Tygri Liberec

Thank you for any responses you offer!

Transport info on www.livingprague.com, under info 1, there you have everything you need and more and its up to date.

Andels would be to far to walk for my liking, but you can use the tram towards Malostanske nam. and walk from there to Pallfy Palac.

The hockey bit I leave up to others.

Hi,

I am also staying at Andel%26#39;s Hotel from 17th-22nd December, arriving in Prague around 6pm on the 17th! (You haven%26#39;t by any chance booked with Lastminute.com??)

Me and my boyfriend are planning on taking the number 100 bus from the airport to the metro station, then taking a tram to Andel%26#39;s stop which is just around the corner from Andel%26#39;s Hotel.

The website mentioned above (livingprague) has all this information and more on it, check it out.

Hope you have a lovely stay!

taxi from outside the airport to andels will cost 600 to 700 crowns (either the yellow or grey taxis), This will be cheaper than a cedaz minibus which cost 960 crowns as you are outside the city centre. you can also have the hotel pick you up for slightly more than a taxi, but you can also charge that to your room. One word of warning - to the andels the taxis will go on a route you will think may be dark streets on the way to bump you off. don%26#39;t worry - this is the most direct route from the airport to where the andels is.

you can also take bus and metro, but in the dark and cold, this means you need to walk from the metro to find the hotel (but only 5 minutes walk).

Before you leave the airport, buy yourself a 3 or 7 day public transport pass, which you will need from the andels to the castle area and city centre. You can buy these at the prague transport authority offices across the arrivals foyer when you have cleared customs

Palffy Palace is a short walk from malostranske namesti. tram 12 goes direct from andel.

sparta play out at holesovice and slavia play at ceskomoravska. The slavia stadium is a diretc metro link from andels, and is the more comfortable stadium, so I would go there, even though sparta this year is the better team. hockey games hardly sell out and are freely available on the day. Word of warning at slavia - no food and drink allowed into the stadium - you need to buy inside, but you can take beer from the concession stores into the arena and like in the cinema, there are holders by your seats

Hello Handbagfiend!

We did book our trip through lastminute.com and we%26#39;re arriving from Heathrow at 5.40pm on a BA flight. Just had a chat with my girlfriend and we thought it%26#39;d be nice to meet up if you wanted to?

We%26#39;re not those slightly odd people that you may find on the internet but my girlfriend does have an almost frightening tendency to buy shoes. She was equally excited by your username!

Well if you fancy it, then by all means reply on here or e-mail me at hill.peter@yahoo.com and maybe we could have a drink in the bar or something.

To the others who helped, thank you very much and I now feel much more prepared for our visit... you truly are local experts!

Pete

Hi,

We have just come back from a 3 night trip and stayed at the Andels Hotel. Yes - you guessed it -lastminute!

Please take Peb7%26#39;s advice - we did and have had a fab break. The Andels is great and we followed advice and arranged for Andels driver to pick us up (£15.00 ish). Good tip about the dark back streets by the way.

If you don%26#39;t get time to get your transport pass at the airport - don%26#39;t worry - there is a paper/tobacco shop just round the corner from Andels and for 80 CZK (£2.00 ish), you can get a 24 hour pass which covers the trams, metro and bus.

The trams leave from just around the corner and are great fun. We used them all the time to get from the Andels. Its a bit confusing at first, but once you get into it you will find it really easy.

I have loads of info that I want to post, but it will take me a few days to sort it out.

Prague is fantastic - we felt safe walking at night even.

I will come back with more info ASAP.

TIP - Make sure you take comfortable walking shoes! We don%26#39;t normally walk anywhere, but you daren%26#39;t not walk in case you missed anything.

Hi

Using public transport to Andels counld not be easier. Buy a ticket from the ticket booth in the airport arrivals hall, get one for three days if you are staying that long, a week if you are staying between 3 and 7 days, the difference is nominal.

Get the 100 bus to Zlicin, it%26#39;s the last stop so you can%26#39;t go wrong then get the metro into town, there is only one metro so no problem with mistakes there. It takes you straight to Andel and Bob%26#39;s your Uncle you%26#39;re home and dry. And it only cost pennies.

I%26#39;ve done it so it must be simple.

Jackie

I was in Prague last week staying at the Andels and used AAA Taxis(yellow chequer cars) who have a desk in the arrivals hall. Flat fare is 450czk single and 800 return.
