Hello there,
We (my wife and myself: late 20s) are planning a trip to Europe over the new years. We have researched a bit and following are our top choices:
1. Prague: heard a lot about it.
2. London
3. Paris
We like lively cities with public fireworks and celebrations. We would like to go dancing, nice food, great people etc. Yes, we like modern luxury and like to live in a nice modern hotel. New years in NYC was the best I have ever had (at a great club) so far, it that helps.
Please comment.....

Paris has no fireworks. London has better fireworks than Prague, but not the setting and not too many places you can watch them. Prague is more dangerous. Edinburgh is the best place in Europe for Hogmany

yes PEB is spot on as usual.
Of course I am biased when it comes to Edinburgh, but we do have the finest Hogmanay celebrations in Europe. This year I am going to the Ceilidh in the Gardens.

for information.
word of warning Hotel rooms are at a premium at this time of year even more so than during the Edinburgh Festival.

Had the best New Year%26#39;s Eve ever in Edinburgh - great atmosphere, cold, loads of people on the streets, everyone really friendly, the Scots do New Year like no-one else I know; London is full of drunk people; Prague is full of atmosphere, very cold and is pretty mental with lots of Euro tourists firing rockets left right and centre. Depends what you fancy.....

I also liked New Year%26#39;s in Rome a lot, I celebrated above the Spanish Steps where you can see the fireworks very good. There were loads of people from all over the world.

I%26#39;ve been in belgrade last couple of days. I%26#39;m sure it isn%26#39;t anywhere like Edinburgh, but people after people I have met have recommended new years eve there.
