Hi all,
We have booked to go to Prague on the 18th December for 4 nights (lastminute.com deal). On the 20th it is my birthday, and I would like to go to either Cowboys or Kampa Park to celebrate. We were going to book it when we go to Prague but now I am worried we%26#39;ll have left it too late, with Christmas being near etc. Is it worth booking now, or sorting it on the 18th? Also, I read on several posts here about a free ride home- is that when it%26#39;s asked for, or for large parties?
Thanks in advance. I%26#39;m so excited already!!

On a weekday evenings, Kampa should be able to be booked even the day before so you are not too late. Kampa is a better restaurant than Cowboys.
BMW offer only available in November

Thanks Peb. I will probably book the week before we go.
This may sound silly but I%26#39;m gonna ask it anyway, is the dress code at Kampa quite formal? The thing that was drawing me to cowboys was that it looked slightly more %26#39;relaxed%26#39;. That%26#39;s probably not the right word but I hope you know what I mean.
Shame about the BMW :( That would have been very cool on my birthday!

Smart casual is perfectly acceptable at kampa - you don%26#39;t even need a jacket or equivalent for ladies. Some people do dress up more smartly but if you don%26#39;t, there are no problems

I would still ask about the BMW ride when you get there. We were there two weeks ago...the manager just walked up to our table and offered us a ride....The car is theirs so I would think they would want to use it rather than just have the driver sit there. There were just the two of us. I booked the reservation online and got a response that same day. Like in the US...the resturant may be busy because of holiday parties and etc. They were full when we dined there. My friend and I had on slacks..dressy tops and we were just fine...the younger woman next to me had on a pretty black and white dress. We were planning to dress up even more but never made it back to the hotel to change clothes...too much to see! I would like to try Cowboys in the summer...their outdoor terrace looked great.

We went to Cowboy%26#39;s for the terrace in the summer. It is great, but the food is disappointing for the prices they charge. The steaks look cheap, but they are small and everything is an extra. Adds up quick.

We booked Kampa Park about 3 weeks before as there was no harm in doing so. Did it via e-mail and got the confirmation back the same day. It wasn%26#39;t too busy though when we got there, probably about three quarters full. Still, no reason not to book ahead.
We dressed up a little smarter.....me in a red dress with ridiculous heels and my husband in a pair of smart trousers and smart shirt - no tie or jacket though.
There was a mix of smart and smart casual the night we were threre.
The Kampa Park Riverside terrace is less formal than the main restaurant.

The Kampa Park terrace - is it in use during the winter or is it just a summer thing ? We like informal dining on holiday and the menu looks good. Will be in Prague 14 December for 4 days. Thanks for any info.

the terrace by the river is closed in and is heated and so is in use all year (unless there is so much snow that you, or the waiters can%26#39;t get down the steps to it - we have no snow at present).
|||
Thanks for that - doesn%26#39;t look like snow yet for Prague according to the BBC weather forecast (unless there is a big drop in temperature next week).
