I arrive in Prague at 11.30 AM on Sun 10th Dec and plan to use the Public Tranport to go to the Hotel Tyn (I P Pavlova). Is this easy and how much is a ticket, does the same ticket do the bus + metro. Can someone please advise(number bus metro line ect).
Also any recommendations on resaurants + bars around the Hotel, and finally what time does the metro run until at night.

Assume you mean the hotel which is in tylovo namesti, not the hotel tyn. if correct, take bus 119 from the airport to metro dejvicka. Then take green metro to station namesti miru. You can either walk down jugoslvaska street for 5 minutes until you get to tylovo namesti, or you can catch any tram for one stop until you come to ip pavlova. cost is 20 crowns, assuming you have aircraft hand luggage size, otherwise you need a luggage ticket. As you will need the tram / metro into the centre every day, you will be best to buy a 3 day or 7 day public transport card (which covers bus metro and tram). 3 day costs 220 crowns. You can buy these at the Prague Trasnsport Authority offices across the arrivals hall foyer at the ariport when you have cleared customs. A 3 or 7 day public transport ticket will cover your journey to and from the airport and you don%26#39;t need a luggage ticket with one.
Pivovarsky dum on the corner of jecna and lipova street is a good pub where you can eat. Other places nearby for eating are u bile kravy on rubesova, bonante on anglicka and cafe sahara on namesti miru. there is a good neighbourhood christmas market on namesti miru without the crowds of the old town square.
metro runs until just after 12pm, trams run all night, but the hotel is walking distance from the centre

Thank you Peb7 you have assumed right I am staying at the Hotel Tyl Tylovo Nameski. I have just been given unused 20 crown transport tickets off a friend who was in Prague in Oct will these still be ok to use and how much is a luggage ticket? I arrive at 11.30 AM on Sun morning and leave the Hotel Tyi at around 5 PM Wen night to catch a 8 PM flight so i assume a 3 day pass is not quite long enough.
If i bought a 3 day pass at 11.30 Sun
1. does it last for sunday, monday and tuesday
2.does it last for 72 hours from when bought i.e run out 11.30am wednesday
3.or if bought 11.30am sunday but not used until 6pm sunday evening would it last until 6pm wednesday
so if i bought a luggage ticket to go with my unused 20 crown ticket to get to the hotel and at the same time bought a 3 day pass but did not use until 6pm sun would this be enough to get me back to the airport 6pm wednesday?

3 day passes last 72 hours from the time you first stamp it (when you get on the first bus, metro, tram). a luggage ticket is 10 crowns. 20 crown ticket will get you from the airport to the hotel
