My husband and I are going to Prague in july next year for 5 nights,we are staying at the Grand hotel Bohemia .
We are going one day to Cesky Krumlov and need to decide on a tour for another day.
Which one will be the one to do:
Karlstejn and Konopiste castle,Nelahozenes chateau,Karlovy Vary spa or Kutna Hora.
Any help will be appreciated

For something sobering, edifying, and certainly different, consider a tour to the Nazi Gestapo prison and concentration camp in Terezin which is really quite close and sadly unforgettable. Less than 40 km away, it gets less than 31000 visitors per year.

I definitely agree with Nicolaitan. Terezin sobering, fascinating, unforgettable and not to be missed.

At the Grand Bohemia, ask for a room on the 6th or 7th floor with a view. (707, 705, 607, 605 in this order, are the best)
Karlstejn and Konopiste are typical castles, with hunting gear, paintings of royals, coins and weapons. Nelahozeves is different. It is a Renaissance castle with the biggest private art collection in Europe. (Both Breugels, two Canalettos, a Rubens, Velasquez etc.) There is also Dvoraks birthhouse and exhibition.
Karlovy Vary is great and worth a visit too, the trip takes two hours. Kutna Hora to me is not as interesting, there is a church and a boring and claustrophobic silver mine and a church fully decorated with human bones - that is fascinating.
Terezin is also fascinating, I always recommend Wittmann Tours and book a tour with a so called survivor.

Nicolaitan,Osumon and Martina thank you so much for your help,I am going to book Terezin and Nelahozenes and maybe can do Karlovy Vary another day.

I would do kutna hora - after cesky krumlov, you need something different. You will remember the bone church at sedlec for the rest of your life. The other reason is that kutna hora doesn%26#39;t take a day. Cesky krumlov is really a long day and for two long trips out of five days will leave most people tired. The other destinations mentioned are just castles; nothing else nearby, as opposed to visiting a town
