I%26#39;m looking for recomendations for a decent central hotel to spend a romantic couple of days with my wife to help celebrate my 40th birthday.
Any help will be greatly received.

Mala Strana (Lesser Town) just below the Prague Castle is quite a romantic place. Look for hotels in Nerudova Street (e.g. %26quot;U Tri Houslicek%26quot; or %26quot;Dum U Cerveneho Lva%26quot;) or in close neighborhood. Another, more quiet and less touristy street of Mala Strana is the %26quot;U Luzickeho seminare%26quot; street at the Vltava River, with a couple of beautiful hotels in historic buildings (for instance %26quot;U Pava%26quot;).

I agree that the Mala Strana is a great section of town to stay in. Fairly central, but much less busy and noisy than the other side of the Charles Bridge. We loved staying at The Golden Wheel (Nerudova 28). I think this is a very romantic hotel; the rooms are beautiful (do try to get one with a/c) and the service is excellent.

aria is a very good hotel in mala strana tucked away in a quiet courtyard

Just out of interest, do people think that I%26#39;m better staying central or maybe a little bit further afield.

it is always better staying in walking distance of the centre (provided you are on a quiet street), but you often need to pay more for the privilege
