We had no idea where to stay and needed accomodations for 5 people. I was able to find an apartment with 3 bedrooms through a website and need to make sure it is in an okay part of town. The pictures looked good, we are staying in Downtown #9 so hopefully somebody will have some information. We arrive Saturday so if it isn%26#39;t okay I guess it is too late!! Thanks!!

According to my map it is just off a street called Zitna, and certainly the main sights should be walkable from there. There are several trams that run along Karlova Namesti at the bottom of Zitna that will take you all over the city.

So would an accomodation in that area be okay? We aren%26#39;t expecting a 5 star hotel but just want to make sure it is decent since it will be for more than a week. Thanks for your help!!!

I don%26#39;t know the area very well, but I have stayed in Prague on many occasions and always found the rooms ok,though standards do vary.often you will find the hotels do not have lifts or if they do they are very small. Some hotels I have looked at have had very small rooms but the places I have stayed in have been good sized rooms.Don%26#39;t expect the huge rooms you get in the states and upgrades are a very rare occurance in Europe apart from the big chain hotels.
I am sure your accomodation and the area you are based in will be more than fine.

This area is very residential. You are sandwiched between the 4 star residence Suitehome and the 3 star Novomestsky. I didn%26#39;t know anything else had opened. The street is largely apartments and small shops although there is a nice corner bar at your end of Pricna.
Go to www.livingprague.com/htmap.htm and follow the instructions to see where you will be staying (aerial photos too).

I%26#39;m sorry, I should have said it is a 3 bedroom apartment. Sounds like the area will be fine. I was in Prague about 10 years ago in the summer so I am anxious to see it in the winter. I will post upon our return to tell you all about it.

I walked past it on Friday. All the apts are listed as %26quot;Downtown%26quot;. The coffee shop is still on the corner. If you turn right in Reznicka and then left into Skolska you%26#39;ll find first the %26quot;Hloupy Honza%26quot; bar and further down the road is the %26quot;Therapy%26quot; bar. Both looked OK.
Enjoy the trip.
