Which hotel is the nicer one out these two?
I%26#39;m taking my mom to Prague for a long weekend in march, and she always wants to stay at Hilton, no matter where she goes. Personally I am more of a Marriott fan, beacuse of their fantastic beds and pillows. I have a loyality program with both chains.
Any recomandations?

Hi Monica,
Your post is quite outdated by now, but what the heck! First of all I have to say I have no experiences with hotels in Prague or Prague itself. However I quickly looked up the features of the two hotels and compared them.
Hilton seems to focus mainly on business tourists. Marriot: seems to focus mainly on leisure tourists (however most 5* hotels are suitable to some extent for both of course).
Although both hotels are located in the (tourist) center. I think Marriott is right in it, and Hilton is a 15 min walk as they mention on their website.
Hilton is busy upgrading and modernizing all their guest rooms. The project will be completed in 2008. However they mention on their website %26quot;Disturbance to guests will be minimal%26quot;. It%26#39;s up to you to trust this or not or willing to take the risk I guess.
According to the loyalty programs the Marriott (category 6) seems to reward slightly more than the Hilton (category 5). Also the Marriott is ranked as one of the Top 100 Best Luxury Hotels in the World for 2005 by TripAdvisor.com. So I guess in your case, Marriott is the winner. If still not convinced, then just visit them both 50% of your time, could be nice.
But once again, I have never visited these two properties, its just a simple summary. If you ever read this afterwards, let me know which hotel you eventually visited and what where your experiences.

The Marriott location is far better, right between Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. The Hilton has a major highway next to it and the walk to the tourist areas is not so nice from there.

The Marriott is much better located and it is a smaller hotel. I would not hesitate to favour the Marriott.

Sorry that I said your post was outdated. I though it said december 2005 instead of 2006. Haha!
