Hotel U Prince

Been recommended the Hotel U Prince. Having read the reviews it seems as though peoples thoughts on it are split. What are the views of the posters on here rather than the reviewers?

|||

to stay or to eat at the cafe? Cafe is good and worth going to for the view. For the hotel, you can get better service in the old town for the same price or less

The hotel peb. It%26#39;s just a friend of my parents has stopped in it and loved it. Any othere recommendations from yourself then for something that is as central as the U Prince?

|||

ventana, iron gate, grand hotel prague, maximilian and bellagio are all within 5 minutes walk of the old town square

I agree, U Prince has a rotten reputation when it comes to service (both hotel and restaurant). If that has changed, it will take a while to change the reputation.

I stayed there for one night in August, and while the rooms are beautiful, the service was terrible. I wouldn%26#39;t go back.

|||

I%26#39;ve eaten there and had cocktails on the roof terrace, whilst the view is fabulous, the service left a lot to be desired.

I%26#39;d highly recommend Grand Hotel Praha, which is practically next door. I spent my wedding night there, best breakfast I%26#39;ve had in all my stays in Prague and the staff were excellent, from helping with the wedding guests, to confirming my onward travel arrangements. Room was beautiful.

Has anybody any views on the Old Town Square Hotel. Sorry for seeming to keep ignoring all the suggestions but I want to make a list of around 5 or 6 hotels and get all the info on them, so when I get around to showing my wife I can hopefully have the best options laid out in front of us.

read the mixed reviews under %26quot;prague hotels%26#39; on this site. I prefer the grand hotel or the ventana. What you need to tell you wife, that if you want to pay for the privelege of having a room on the old town square with a view, it will probably be a lot less quieter than a hotel like the maximilian or bellagio which are on side streets

I stayed in the U Prince recently, its a lovely, charming hotel, very close to Charles Bridge. The buffet breakfast was tasty and sufficient. The staff were friendly and the porters were very obliging in picking up our luggage. The only thing I didn%26#39;t like was when we asked the hotel to book us a taxi and they ripped us off.
