Please compare Aria hoel to Hotel Josef

I know these two hotels are at different ends of the spectrum in terms of decor, but I am trying to decide which place would be better for a couple in their mid 50%26#39;s who want a vacation with a little luxury.

I am also looking at the price difference and trying to decide if the Aria (which will cost us an additional 500 euros for our stay) has that much more to offer than the Josef.

Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

amazingly, we came to a similar choice with one or two other options. We selected the Josef and were very happy with the boutique enviroment, the fancy bathrooms, the location close to the old town square and the Nam Republicky metro station. Ultimately, the difference in price and everything else came down to 2 factors for us. The Aria is famed for having every concierge with an advanced degree in music, rooms designed to replicate famous composers, and a huge music library. That was our deciding factor - these advantages were not worth all the extra money. If classical music, the musical concierge etc mean a lot to you, then you might want to spend more than we did. The rooms at Aria are undoubtedly more plush, but the see-thru bathroom walls and the vessel sinks at the Josef are also considerations. If you stay at the Josef, I can give you a couple of restaurants we enjoyed, etc, so come back to us.

Our neighbors run a huge NYC travel agency, one of the biggest in the US, BTW, and they love the Aria. It is their first choice in Prague.

When I first walked passed the Josef, I thought it was a new dental clinic. It is very %26quot;design%26quot;, meaning modern and a bit cold. The glass bathrooms are only in a few rooms and it is a nuisance, when your partner goes to the toilet at night and the entire room is lit because of the glass bathroom wall. There is no restaurant, just breakfast service. The location is great, central and still quite.

The Aria (one of my favourites) is equally well located in Mala Strana. It is not just the music professor, who makes it special - the staff really cares and tries to do everything, to make your stay special. The restaurant is excellent. All together Josef is a 4 star and Aria a 5 star.

I would certainly agree with MartinaPrague on her star ratings - no way the Josef passes for 5 star. But it is a lot cheaper. The breakfast buffet is quite adequate. As for lunch and dinner, I would never eat them in a hotel anyway - Prague has great restaurants, great service.
