Taxi from Airport on Christmas Eve

Hi,

I will be in Prague over Christmas and arrive early evening on Christmas Eve. Can anyone please tell me what is the likelyhood of getting a taxi at the airport to take us to our hotel, will taxi%26#39;s still be available / working? Are we best advised to book a taxi in advance?

Also, any recommended taxi operators would be appreciated.

There are AAA (yellow) taxis at the terminals (to the center ca. 450 - 500 CZ). If not you can call them (14014). There are also airport limos at 650 CZ to the center. they have fix prices and no rip offs.

To be on the safe side, you can arrange transport with the hotel. That is a bit more expensive (800-900 CZ I would think), but a nice welcome and somebody to help you with your luggage and nothing to worry about.

Is that arriving on the English Christmas Eve i.e. the 24th? in which case I would add on a couple of hundred more korun onto Martina%26#39;s taxi costs. The 24th here is not like the 24th in England i.e. not just another working day, it%26#39;s the main day off here.

What hotel are you going to?

We are also arriving on the 24th, late afternoon, we have booked a taxi through our hotel (Hotel Josef) just to be on the safe side!

When you exit the airport in Prague, there are loads of taxis. Myself and my partner returned from Prague last night. We recommend AAA taxis. Their reps are outside the airport and if you give them the name of your hotel, they will agree a price before you get in the taxi. Very nice cars and a smooth ride. We paid a little under 400 czk to the Axa hotel a few minutes from old Town square. Prague is lovely-enjoy yourself!
