5 dayn in prague : the review

just got back from prague. maybe sameone finds my notes helpful

1)novemetsky pivovar

i haven`t visited the place in any of my older visits. this time after reading so many good reviews i decided to check it out. i`d say it`s an average (to bad) restaurant. the food average (at most) and the service not very good. so i`d ruled it out for lunch but the beer is very good so if you just want have a drink then it`s an alternative\

2)pallatino

it`s an italian restaurant in karlovo namesti (next to albert). if you want to eat till you are full and pay almost nothing then that`s the place to be. we got soups, main course, deserts and beers for less than 9 euros per person!

3)klasterni pivovar

whatever you`ve read is true. the beer is the best ive tasted in prague , the utopenec too. the food was good , not as cheap as pallatino`s but in the low end.

4)zvonice

usualy i don`t go to restaurants like this. but ti was christmas day so we thought we should do something %26quot;special%26quot; we haven`t regret it! the location and the decoration of the restaurant is excellent. and thankfully the food was too! we tried nine different main courses and all were very good.and as for prices ... for 9 persons with soups, main course, deserts and wine we payed 10.000cr. a bargain if you ask me!

5)u maltezsky chrytiru

it`s the kind of place where you whisper. it`s a small restaraunt in a cellar , lighted only by candles and with live piano. the food was a little to %26quot;sophisticated%26quot; for my tastes (i`m more into tartar biftek and beer) but nice.

6)the best for last. CELNICE

again we were 9. take a look at our order

utopenec x2

pork sausages in beer x2

Wings x2

Fried Cheese x2

Goulash x2

Traditional Czech Platter

Roasted duck

Pork Wiener Schnitzel x2

Roast pork Hock

Turkey Steak x2

Sirloin in cream sauce

Moravian Sparrow

a salad and beers

and the bill was about 130euros!!!

other places for drinks and/or coffee we visited and liked are

solidni nejstota in pstrossova, ender rouge behind tyn church, kolkovna and ebel`s in mala strana

i`d stay away from square in malostranske namesti

something last .. i didn`t find potrefena housa. i remmeber there was one in reslova and one in parziska. i didn`t find any of them. have i missed something???

Potrefena Husa is not on Parziska -- it is close by on Bilkova, but in view of the Intercontinental.

There is also one on Vinhradska, up near Flora mall.

There is one in Smichov near the Andel metro station

And the one at Resslova, right by the river, near the dancing building.

Too bad you missed it -- I think you%26#39;d have liked it if you liked Celnice. Always next time!
